Frequently Asked Questions
The frequently asked questions lists contain short answers to questions about Hypercosm software that are frequently encountered.

Hypercosm Teleporter for SketchUp
INSTALLATION QUESTIONS
Problem: I’m having trouble installing Hypercosm Teleporter.
Solution: Make sure you have the required security permissions to install software on your computer. If you’re using Windows Vista, you may need to run the program as "Administror" and you may also need to disable User Access Control temporarily in order to complete the software installation.

To run the install software as Administrator, see the article How to Run Programs as Administrator Using Windows Vista.
To disable the UAC, see the article How to Disable User Account Control Using Windows Vista.

Problem: I can't install Hypercosm Teleporter - it complains about not having SketchUp Pro installed.
Solution: Install SketchUp Pro before installing Hypercosm Teleporter.
Note: There are two versions of SketchUp, a free version called "Google SketchUp" and a commercial version called "SketchUp Pro". Only SketchUp Pro supports importers and exporters. Hypercosm Teleporter will not work with the free Google SketchUp software because it does not support importers or exporters of any kind.

Problem: I can't figure out how to run Hypercosm Teleporter - it doesn't show up in the "Start" menu after I install it.
Solution: Start SketchUp and run Hypercosm Teleporter from within SketchUp by going to the "File > Export > 3D Model..." as shown here.

EXPORTING QUESTIONS
Problem: When I click the "Options" button to change my export settings, I see a message that no options are available.
Solution: Additional options are only available in the "Pro" version of the Hypercosm Teleporter software. Find more information on purchasing Hypercosm Teleporter for SketchUp here.

Problem: When I export my model, I see additional edges that are not visible in the SketchUp scene. Is there a way to make them match? Solution: Hypercosm Teleporter doesn't support SketchUp's per-edge hiding. Try disabling the "display edges" and "display profile edges" options in SketchUp. This will hide all of the edges, but will make the display consistent between SketchUp and the Hypercosm applet. If the hidden edges in the SketchUp scene are part of a flat shape, such as a logo or a piece of text, get rid of the edges by replacing the geometric text with a texture.

EMAIL RELATED QUESTIONS
Problem: When I email the web page exported by Hypercosm Teleporter, it doesn't display the 3D part.
Solution: You need to email the entire directory of exported files, not just the .html file. See the article How to Email Web Pages Using Windows XP.

SKINS QUESTIONS
Problem: I’m using the free version of Hypercosm Teleporter and I don’t see a way to change the skins.
Solution: This feature is only available in the “Pro” version of Hypercosm Teleporter. More information about the Pro version of Hypercosm Teleporter for SketchUp is available here.

MACINTOSH QUESTIONS
Problem: The Hypercosm Teleporter installer does not run on my Macintosh.
Solution: Though the Hypercosm Player is supported on Macintosh and Windows, the Hypercosm Teleporter is only supported on Windows. Use the Windows version of SketchUp (on a Windows computer, or with Windows installed on your Macintosh) to export your scenes with Hypercosm Teleporter.
