Adding Hypercosm applets to PowerPoint presentations is easy, useful, and doesn't require any scripting or coding. Just follow the steps listed below.
- Insert object
Ater opening up your PowerPoint presentation, go to the "Insert" menu on the top menu bar and select the option "Insert Object" as shown below:

- Select "Hypercosm Applet"
After selecting "Insert Object", PowerPoint will display a dialog box as shown below listing the various types of objects that can be inserted into a slide. Select "Hypercosm Applet" as shown below:

- Size and position the applet using the applet frame
Once you insert a "Hypercosm Applet" object, a rectangular frame will appear on your PowerPoint slide with the word "Hypercosm Applet" in the center. This frame represents the area that the Hypercosm applet will use to display your 3D scene when you are in "show mode" displaying the presentation. You reposition the frame by using simply clicking on it and dragging it around the slide and you can resize it by clicking and dragging on the handles at the corner of the frame.

- Bring up the "Properties" dialog box
The last step to adding the applet is to set the applet properties so that the object in your PowerPoint side can find the correct Hypercosm appelt file to display. To set the applet properties, right click on the Hypercosm Applet object frame. This will display a popup menu as shown below. From this menu, select "Properties":
- Set the "AppletSrc" property
Once you select "Properties" from the popup menu, PowerPoint will display a dialog box as shown below. From this dialog box, you must enter the name of the applet (the .hcvm file) relative to the PowerPoint document. Note that you can also set the width, height, and position of the applet numerically from this dialog box if you want to. Note that since the PowerPoint file is linking to the Hypercosm applet instead of embedding the applet inside of the PowerPoint file, if you move the PowerPoint file, you must also make sure that the applet file is accessible. In most cases, the best way to do this is to put the PowerPoint file and the applet files(s) in the same folder and make sure that you move the entire folder when you need to move the presentation. Also, note that in order for the applet to find any resources used in the scene (any texture image or sound files), those files will need to be moved to the folder where the applet resides.

- Run the slide show!
That's it. Now you can run the slide show. As soon as the slide loads, the applet will load and begin running. You can manipulate the applet inside of the slide in the same way that you can manipulate the applet in a web page.
