Real Time Collaboration
The real- time collaboration tools allow you to collaborate with another remotely located person in such a way that you each immediately can see the view of the model from the other person's screen as they manipulate the model. This type of immediate feedback makes it possible to engage in effective design reviews or to take someone on an impromptu guided tour of a 3D model.
The Collaboration Toolbar
The collaboration toolbar features a number of controls. To collaborate with another person, you need to both be visiting the same web page simultaneously and then you each need to enter the internet address of the other person to establish a connection. Once a connection is established, you and the person that you are collaborating with can take turns controlling the model. When you are collaborating, one person is the "leader" and the other person becomes the "follower". The leader always has control of the model and the follower sees the model as the leader manipulates it.

The Collaboration Toolbar
Note that with the standard SketchUp style user interface template, the collaboration toolbar is normally hidden by default. To show the collaboration toolbar, do the following:
- Go to the "tools" toolbar at the top of the user interface - this is the toolbar with menu and the hammer ("tools") button located next to it.
- Click on "Collaboration" in the toolbar drop down menu
- Press the "hide / show" button (the button with the hammer icon) to toggle the Collaboration toolbar's visibility. You should see the collaboration toolbar appear at the lower left side of the user interface.
The Collaboration Setup Dialog Box
When you first hit the collaboration button, you will be prompted for some basic information about the address of the person that you want to collaborate with as shown below. This information is used to establish a connection. Once you "connect", the other buttons in the toolbar ("lead", "follow", and "disengage") become active so you can begin your collaboration.
