Tom Crabb,
President

MR. TOM CRABB was a co-founder of Orbital Technologies Corporation (ORBITEC) and is CEO/President of PLANET LLC, and recently established Hypercosm LLC to develop and implement innovative 3D software products and services. His major areas of business management include: large program development, systems and technology analysis and planning, commercial product development, project and personnel management, finance and accounting, marketing, market research and business plan developments, patent development, information technology, and proposal preparation.

Mr. Crabb leads ORBITEC’s developments related to Advanced Life Support technologies, spaceflight hardware, and commercial product development. He is responsible for ORBITEC’s first patents, first commercial products, and first spaceflight hardware programs. Two of his flight programs (the Biomass Production System and the Plant Research Unit) are projected to have a combined value greater than $70M, representing NASA’s largest commercialization awards ever from the SBIR program. Based on this work ORBITEC was selected as the Wisconsin Service Business of the Year for 1995 and won the SBA Tibbetts Award in 1996 for outstanding work in the SBIR Program.

Currently, Mr. Crabb is focusing efforts on commercializing products and services through PLANET LLC and Hypercosm LLC. Mr. Crabb’s skills include business and team development, technology and product assessment, quality and product assurance, project and program management, new product development, new business ventures, and entrepreneurship. Mr. Crabb was a 2002 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year finalist.
